Header Plugs & Shoulder Plugs for Heat Exchanger
Shoulder plugs or header plugs are prepared for plug type header boxes in air cooled heat exchangers or fin fan air coolers. A shoulder plug and gasket are located contrasting each tube which allows access for inspection and cleaning of individual tubes. Spare plugs and gaskets may be needed to replace originals during routine maintenance or used to plug leaking tubes.
Header Plugs are installed in upstream offshore/onshore oil production and initial processing installations. Header Plugs are finished from Stainless Steel 316, SS 304, Duplex, Super Duplex, Carbon Steel, Brass, Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium and Monel. They are also obtainable in various Alloy Steel.Common material for Gaskets is Soft Iron , SS 304 and SS 316 .
Most Common sizes are 3/4″ UNF ,1 1/8″ UNF ,1 3/8″ UNF ,1 5/8″ UNF ,2 1/8″ UNF .
